Steward's Report
Off The Hip was quick to begin. Dundee Fury and Tuco Salamanca were slow to begin. Miss Johannsen and Telling Lies were very slow to begin (3 lengths). Dundee Fury and Miss Johannsen collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn checking Dundee Fury. One Cup Short checked off Off The Hip on the first turn. Miss Johannsen and Telling Lies collided entering the back straight checking both greyhounds. Hi Ho Geronimo checked off Crash Zone on the second turn. Telling Lies eased on the second turn. Off The Hip and Hi Ho Geronimo collided approaching the home turn checking Hi Ho Geronimo. Dundee Fury raced wide on the home turn.
Telling Lies was vetted and after being re vetted following event 12, it was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Jensen, the representative of the greyhound Telling Lies regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the second turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Telling Lies with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Jensen pleaded guilty to the charge. Telling Lies was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sale and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
