Bombastic Tim and Contemptuous were quick to begin. Pacific Power, Tail Inspector and Dashing Max were slow to begin. Pacific Power and Tail Inspector collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds. Pacific Power and Zak's Turbo collided on the first turn. Nasher contacted the running rail on the first turn and stumbled checking Pacific Power and Zak's Turbo. Tail Inspector galloped on Zak's Turbo on the first turn severely checking both greyhounds. Bombastic Tim and Contemptuous collided approaching the winning post.
Nasher was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found
