Shimatron and Rippin Hayne were slow to begin.
Rippin Hayne crossed to the rail soon after the start. Helga Bale checked off Mumma Josie on the first turn; Helga Bale, Flyrite and Tedesco collided as a result. Demon Bale and Rippin Hayne collided on the first turn. Invictus Rapid contacted the running rail approaching the second turn. Rippin Hayne galloped on the heels of Demon Bale on the second turn, checking both greyhounds. Helga Bale and Flyrite collided on the second turn. Tedesco clipped the heels of Shimatron approaching the home turn. Invictus Rapid, Helga Bale and Mumma Josie collided approaching the winning post.
