Steward's Report
Prior to the running of this event Stewards inspected the track surface in front of the boxes and found the track surface safe for racing.
A pre race sample was taken from Invictus Rapid.
Ava's Shadow was slow to begin. Credit Entry and River Crossing collided soon after the start checking Credit Entry. Ava's Shadow checked off Credit Entry approaching the first turn. Invictus Rapid, River Crossing and One More Tom collided approaching the first turn severely checking River Crossing which stumbled and lost considerable ground as a result. One More Tom, Josie Rumble and Hit Legs collided on the first turn checking One More Tom and Josie Rumble. Ava's Shadow faltered on the first turn and subsequently tailed off. Invictus Rapid and Sketchy Nick collided approaching the home turn. One More Tom and Josie Rumble collided on the home turn and again entering the home straight checking One More Tom.
River Crossing was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Ava's Shadow was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained multiple fracture of the right hock, and was humanely euthanased.
