Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Merinda Ollie.
Kraken Suzie and Virgil collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds. Merinda Ollie and Stella's Grace collided approaching the first turn. Merinda Ollie, Stella's Grace, Borough Black and Virgil collided on the first turn checking Stella's Grace, Borough Black, Virgil and Kraken Suzie. Merinda Ollie, Hey Hey Fozz and Miss Twerker collided in the back straight. Hey Hey Fozz, Miss Twerker and Stella's Grace collided on the second turn checking Stella's Grace and severely checking Miss Twerker. Borough Black and Miss Twerker collided several times approaching the home turn. Kraken Suzie failed to pursue the lure with due commitment on the home turn and several times in the home straight. Stella's Grace and Kraken Suzie collided approaching the winning post.
Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Eyles the trainer of the greyhound Kraken Suzie regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Kraken Suzie was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to both monkey muscles and the right thigh muscle, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Kraken Suzie with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Eyles pleaded guilty to the charge, Kraken Suzie was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
