Steward's Report

Double Deception, Tip Toe and Beer On Tap were slow to begin. Tip Toe and Callaway collided soon after the start. Hide The Wallet and Double Deception collided soon after the start. Dan The Man failed to pursue the lure from the 300m mark to the 250m mark, checking Tip Toe and Double Deception. Tip Toe and Double Deception collided at the 200m mark. Hide The Wallet and Blue Deception collided at the 150m mark. Dan The Man failed to pursue the lure at the 140m mark, causing Double Deception, Tip Toe and Dan The Man to collide, checking Tip Toe. Callaway checked off Classy Gun at the 100m mark. Beer On Tap checked off Callaway at the 60m mark. Tip Toe and Double Deception collided several times approaching the winning post, checking Double Deception. 

Tip Toe was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to both wrists and an abrasion to the right calf, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. 

Dan The Man was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained split webbing to the left hind toes, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. 

Stewards issued a warning to Mr. K. Howat, the trainer of Tip Toe regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Stewards took into consideration the interference that the greyhound incurred and his injury. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Welsh, the trainer of the greyhound Dan The Man regarding the greyhounds racing manners from the 200m mark to the 250m mark and again at the 140m mark.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Dan The Man with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr. Welsh pleaded guilty to the charge, Dan The Man was found guilty and suspended the greyhound for 3 months (all tracks) and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(b), before any future nomination will be accepted.
