Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Barbara , the trainer of In Our Time regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. In Our Time last raced on 23rd August 2016. Mr. Barbara stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following a throat operation.
A pre-race sample was taken from Cindy Lass.
Cindy Lass was quick to begin. In Our Time, Topaz Warrior, Parvati Patil and Raglan Bindi collided approaching the first turn checking In Our Time and Topaz Warrior. In Our Time and Topaz Warrior collided approaching the first turn checking In Our Time. Parvati Patil and Raglan Bindi collided approaching the first turn checking Raglan Bindi. Tribal Fusion checked off Zoenah's Legacy approaching the first turn. Parvati Patil checked off Cindy Lass on the first turn checking Raglan Bindi. Tribal Fusion and Zoenah's Legacy collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Parvati Patil checked off Cindy Lass approaching the home turn. Zoenah's Legacy checked off In Our Time on the home turn. Parvati Patil eased entering the home straight and collided several times with Cindy Lass in the home straight.
Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Gladman, the trainer of the greyhound Parvati Patil regarding the greyhound's racing manners entering the home straight. Parvati Patil was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injujry to its left monkey muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Parvati Patil with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Gladman pleaded guilty to the charge. Parvati Patil was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
