Perfect Return and Lizzy's Castle were slow to begin.
Miss Seaspray crossed to the rails soon after the start checking Lizzy's Castle and Perfect Return. Curly Em faltered approaching the first turn and lost considerable ground as a result. Lizzy's Castle and Gringo Grange collided on the first turn checking Gringo Grange and Dr. Henry. Lizzy's Castle raced wide in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr. D.Tallentyre, the trainer of the greyhound Bit Mad.  Stewards deemed the performance of Bit Mad unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Bit Mad must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Uncle Skeeta and Cuddle Grange were slow to begin.
