Steward's Report
Magic Hondo and Quick Sip were slow to begin.
Jetgun crossed to the rails approaching the first turn checking Greg Bale, Erica Power, Ellis Island and Stylish Autumn. Stylish Autumn crossed to the rails on the first turn checking Erica Power, Magic Hondo and Ellis Island. Magic Hondo checked off Erica Power approaching the home turn. Stylish Autumn checked off Greg Bale approaching the home turn. Erica Power and Magic Hondo collided on the home turn checking both greyhounds. Ellis Island and Quick Sip collided in the home straight and again approaching the winning post.
Quick Sip was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the right thigh. No stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to the trainer of Quick Sip, Mr. D.Shovan regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. After taking into account Mr. Shovan's evidence and acting on their own observations, stewards decided to take no further action.
Stewards spoke to Ms J.Power the handler of Erica Power and reminded her of her responsibilities to ensure that she places the greyhound in the boxes in a timely manner.
