A pre race sample was taken from Pacific Impulse.
Pacific Impulse was quick to begin. Diamond Dancer was slow to begin. She's Dee Rocket, Burst Through and Northern Ghost collided soon after the start, severely checking Burst Through and Northern Ghost. Borris Delight clipped the heels of Pacific Impulse approaching the first turn. Pacific Impulse and Borris Delight collided on the first turn. Marble Hill and Unique Affair collided approaching the home turn. She's Dee Rocket and Borris Delight collided on the home turn. Marble Hill and Unique Affair collided on the home turn and again in the home straight.
Northern Ghost was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained spike wounds to both wrists, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.
