Doobstar and Pomp Fiction were quick to begin. Doobstar and Cheeky Danae collided soon after the start. Unique Shirley, Mantra Mick and Stella Etoile collided soon after the start. Cheeky Danae and Unique Shirley collided approaching the first turn. Unique Shirley contacted the running rail approaching the first turn. Mantra Mick and Stella Etoile collided on the first turn.

Pacific Impulse was quick to begin. Diamond Dancer was slow to begin. She's Dee Rocket, Burst Through and Northern Ghost collided soon after the start, severely checking Burst Through and Northern Ghost. Borris Delight clipped the heels of Pacific Impulse approaching the first turn. Pacific Impulse and Borris Delight collided on the first turn. Marble Hill and Unique Affair collided approaching the home turn. She's Dee Rocket and Borris Delight collided on the home turn. Marble Hill and Unique Affair collided on the home turn and again in the home straight. 

Northern Ghost was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained spike wounds to both wrists, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Toy Princess was a late scratching at 5:50pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Miss Briony was slow to begin. Burst Of Magic and Burrawonga Kevan collided approaching the first turn. Burrawonga Kevan and Lady Silver collided on the first turn. Burrawonga Kevan checked off Lady Silver approaching the second turn, checking Old Zebb.

Coota's Cazaly, Black And Pretty, Highbury and Mr Make Believe were slow to begin. Agility and Cotton Bud Joe collided approaching the first turn. Coota's Cazaly checked off Highbury approaching the first turn. Highbury and Mr Make Believe collided on the first turn. Le Luca galloped on the heels of Agility on the first turn, checking both greyhounds. Cotton Bud Joe and Black And Pretty collided approaching the home turn. No Jockey Needed and Black And Pretty collided in the home straight. 

Jaimandy Hatty, Rise Above It, Able Chief and One For Liam were slow to begin. Rise Above It, Able Chief and Annabow collided soon after the start, checking Rise Above It. Jaimandy Hatty clipped the heels of Annabow approaching the first turn. Matlin's Tornado, Annabow, Able Chief and One For Liam collided on the first turn, checking Able Chief and One For Liam. Jaimandy Hatty checked off El Chana approaching the second turn, checking Matlin's Tornado. Able Chief and Annabow collided on the second turn. Matlin's Tornado and Rise Above It collided entering the back straight. El Chana and Alouette Magic collided on the third turn, checking both greyhounds. Vanderville was quick to begin. Unique Motive, Miss Utamurra and Clovalley Mansumi were slow to begin. It's The Lovely checked off Gunmetal Diva on the first turn, checking Where's Savannah, severely checking Miss Utamurra, Unique Motive and Clovalley Mansumi. Gunmetal Diva and Little Hemi collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn, checking Little Hemi.

Gunmetal Lad and Smart Action collided approaching the first turn, checking Gunmetal Lad. Clovalley Dolly and Nine Squared collided approaching the first turn. Nine Squared, Cool Springs and Clovalley Dolly collided approaching the first turn, checking Nine Squared. Proven Crown and Nine Squared raced wide in the home straight.

Due to a malfunction with the semaphore board this event was hand timed at 25.35.

Locked Out and Krazy Kanga were quick to begin. Rip It and Royal Norris were slow to begin. Gaelic Peter, Rip It and Chelsea Drogba collided soon after the start, checking Gaelic Peter and Rip It. Chelsea Drogba, Ivy Lane, Royal Norris and Coopnarcha collided on the first turn, checking Royal Norris. Gaelic Peter raced wide on the home turn. Rip It raced wide entering the home straight. The track leg tape of Royal Norris became dislodged entering the home straight. Gaelic Peter cramped in the home straight and tailed off. 

Gaelic Peter was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right wrist injury and cramping, a 28 day stand down period was imposed. 

Stewards spoke to Mr B Klemke the handler of the greyhound Gaelic Peter. Acting in accordance with GAR 71 (Cramp), Stewards directed that the greyhound must perform a Satisfactory Trial before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to trainer Mr F Meyer regarding the difficulty his handler Mr J Parsons had in boxing the greyhound Coopnarcha. Stewards directed that Coopnarcha be boxed first in future events.

Mr G Dainton trainer of Smashing Blue declared a new weight of 33.8kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Smashing Blue last raced at 32.7kgs.

All Inn Africa was slow to begin. Burrawonga Betoo and Zipping Anna collided soon after the start. Dolly Dyer galloped on the heels of Moyarra Okuibi on the first turn, checking Moyarra Okuibi. Smashing Blue galloped on the heels of Moyarra Okuibi approaching the home turn, checking Moyarra Okuibi. Dolly Dyer and Burrawonga Betoo collided on the home turn. Moyarra Okuibi and Smashing Blue collided on the home turn and again entering the home straight, checking both greyhounds which raced as a result. 

Meeting comments

Re - vetted greyhound - Play A Kazoo was presented for a re-vet at the conclusion of kennelling and was cleared to race. Acting under GAR83, Stewards directed that a urine sample be taken from the greyhound.

Vetted greyhound - Skate Thin Ice was presented for a veterinary examination after leaving the Sandown track prior to being vetted on Sunday 13 December 2015. It was reported that the greyhound was found to be injured in the right hind medial toe. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR83, Stewards directed that a urine sample be taken from the greyhound.
