Steward's Report
A pre race sample was taken from Krazy Kanga.
Locked Out and Krazy Kanga were quick to begin. Rip It and Royal Norris were slow to begin. Gaelic Peter, Rip It and Chelsea Drogba collided soon after the start, checking Gaelic Peter and Rip It. Chelsea Drogba, Ivy Lane, Royal Norris and Coopnarcha collided on the first turn, checking Royal Norris. Gaelic Peter raced wide on the home turn. Rip It raced wide entering the home straight. The track leg tape of Royal Norris became dislodged entering the home straight. Gaelic Peter cramped in the home straight and tailed off.
Gaelic Peter was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right wrist injury and cramping, a 28 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr B Klemke the handler of the greyhound Gaelic Peter. Acting in accordance with GAR 71 (Cramp), Stewards directed that the greyhound must perform a Satisfactory Trial before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards spoke to trainer Mr F Meyer regarding the difficulty his handler Mr J Parsons had in boxing the greyhound Coopnarcha. Stewards directed that Coopnarcha be boxed first in future events.
