A pre-race sample was taken from Cash Ownley upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
Select Sanz and Roll 'Em Mighty were quick to begin. Mirror Reality, Azza and Vienna Pink were slow to begin. Select Sanz and Say Nothing collided soon after the start checking Say Nothing. Mirror Reality and Say Nothing collided on the first turn checking Mirror Reality. Azza checked off Vienna Pink on the first turn. Vienna Pink and Tekki Cloud collided approaching the home turn checking Tekki Cloud. Select Sanz and Roll 'Em Mighty collided approaching the home turn checking Select Sanz. Say Nothing checked off Cash Ownley approaching the home turn. Vienna Pink raced wide on the home turn.
Select Sanz was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right triangle muscle. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Clifton, the representative of Tankster regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Tankster last raced on 15th May 2016. Mr. Clifton stated that the greyhound was returning to race after a right hock injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Tankster trialled over the 400 metre distance from box 1, weight 33.1kgs. The greyhound was placed 3rd, in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.37. The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 10.25 lengths. Tankster was cleared.
Lion Rebel trialled over the 400 metre distance from box 3, weight 33.0kgs. The greyhound was placed 1st, in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.37. The greyhound won by a margin of 5 lengths. Lion Rebel was cleared.
