Coringel Ebony, Lonesome George and Carlanna Casey were slow to begin.  Coringel Ebony and Vectis Falcon collided approaching the first turn checking Vectis Falcon.  Viewing, Take The Rapid and Wisp Bale collided on the first turn.

Zoenah's Legacy was slow to begin.  Concrete Level went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin.  Out Of Alcatraz and Merl's Angel collided approaching the first turn.  Chezzy Allen, Allen Unther and Mrs. Kash collided approaching the first turn checking Allen Unther and Mrs. Kash.  Zoenah's Legacy contacted the running rail on the first turn.  Out Of Alcatraz and Merl's Angel collided approaching the home turn severely checking Out Of Alcatraz.

Out Of Alcatraz was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to its left hind leg.  No stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Topaz Warrior.

Topaz Warrior and Iron Vee were slow to begin.  Winston Cruise and Topaz Warrior collided soon after the start checking Topaz Warrior. Awesome Freckles and Iron Vee collided approaching the home turn checking Awesome Freckles.  Topaz Warrior checked off Puddle Jumper approaching the home turn.  Puddle Jumper and Topaz Warrior collided several times in the home straight.  Topaz Warrior failed to pursue the lure with due commitment approaching the winning post and collided with Iron Vee as a result.

Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Quinn, the trainer of the greyhound Topaz Warrior regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post.  Topaz Warrior was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 10, it was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its left monkey muscle and right quadriceps.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Topaz Warrior with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Quinn pleaded not guilty to the charge. Topaz Warrior was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69 (B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

El Grand Richo and Pretty Sensation were slow to begin.  Clickin' Gears was very slow to begin (3 lengths).  Cloona Express and Quina Allen collided approaching the first turn checking Quina Allen .  Mr. No Worries and Severus Grange collided approaching the home turn checking Severus Grange.  Quina Allen and Severus Grange collided approaching the home turn checking Severus Grange and Lovely.  Pretty Sensation and El Grand Richo collided on the home turn.

Stewards spoke to Mrs. J. Brouwer, the kennel representative of Sisco Bizzy regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Sisco Bizzy last raced on 28th September, 2016.  Mrs. Brouwer stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after being on season.

Lorian Victory was slow to begin.  Time To Launch and Queen Elsa collided soon after the start checking Queen Elsa.  Lorian Victory and Sisco Bizzy collided approaching the first turn checking Sisco Bizzy.  Another Value checked off In It Together approaching the home turn.  Another Value checked off Troy Boyce approaching the home turn.  Time To Launch and Troy Boyce collided approaching the home turn severely checking Time To Launch and Another Value.

Stewards spoke to Mr. L. Lacy, the trainer of Klemo regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Klemo last raced on 29th September, 2016.  Mr. Klemo stated that the greyhound was new to his kennel.

Merl's Blaze and Free Auto were slow to begin.  Monoak checked off Lola Allen on the first turn checking Lithium.  Monoak, Lithium, Free Auto and Carlanna Kervon collided approaching the home turn checking Lithium and severely checking Monoak and Carlanna Kervon.

Carlanna Kervon was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left back muscle and spike wounds to its right and left hind legs.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Satisfactory Trial Results

Quick Return trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 1, weight 31.3kgs.  The greyhound was placed 3rd, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 22.32.  The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 5.5 lengths.  Quick Return was cleared.

Stewards spoke to Ms. T. Salter, the trainer of Tears Some regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Tears Some last raced on 22nd June 2016.  Ms. Salter stated that the greyhound was returning to race after being on season.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Tears Some trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 2, weight 28.1kgs.  The greyhound was placed 1st, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 22.32.  The greyhound won by a margin of 5.25 lengths.  Tears Some was cleared.
