Steward's Report
Dr. Marshmellow was slow to begin. Vee Black Violet and Minotaur collided soon after the start. Last Princess and Bullocky Bill collided soon after the start. Rhiannon Royale failed to pursue the lure with due commitment soon after the start and again at the 300 metre mark. Last Princess crossed to the outside at the 300 metre mark checking Bullocky Bill, Minotaur, Sammi Jay and Rhiannon Royale. Bullocky Bill and Vee Black Violet collided at the 250 metre mark. Minotaur, Sammi Jay and Klemo collided at the 150 metre mark. Sammi Jay and Klemo collided at the 100 metre mark and again approaching the winning post.
Vee Black Violet was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right monkey muscle. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Rhiannon Royale was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 4, it was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Ender, the trainer of the greyhound Rhiannon Royale regarding the greyhound's racing manners soon after the start and at the 300 metre mark. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1), Stewards charged Rhiannon Royale with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Ender pleaded guilty to the charge. Rhiannon Royale was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
