Steward's Report
Pursuant to GAR 104(6), Starter, Mr. R Johnson did not act in any official capacity for this event.
A pre-race sample was taken from Silver Banjo.
Early King and Jack's Miss collided soon after the start. Blue Deception, Dozer Gold and Silver Banjo collided soon after the start. Crystal Shadow and Jack's Miss collided approaching the 300 metre mark. Blue Deception crossed to the inside at the 250 metre mark. Silver Banjo and Dozer Gold collided at the 200 metre mark and again at the 150 metre mark. Shreddin' and Early Thunder collided at the 100 metre mark. Crystal Shadow marred the running of Shreddin' approaching the winning post severely checking Shreddin'.
Crystal Shadow was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to its left hind foot. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Carr, the trainer of the greyhound Crystal Shadow regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(1) Stewards charged Crystal Shadow with marring. Mr. Carr pleaded guilty to the charge. Crystal Shadow was found guilty and Stewards suspended the greyhound for 3 months (all tracks) and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(b) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Shreddin' was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards issued a warning to Ms. L. Hellmuth, the trainer of Shreddin' regarding the greyhound's racing manners at the 150 metre mark.
