Steward's Report
A pre-race sample ws taken from Zipping Zeus upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
Charm Again and Supreme Deal were slow to begin. Zipping Zeus, Zipping Link and Duff Bale collided soon after the start checking Zipping Link and Supreme Deal. Charm Again and Supreme Deal collided approaching the first turn. Pendles Power and Andrej's collided on the first turn. Charm Again, Zipping Link, Supreme Deal and Duff Bale collided on the first turn severely checking Supreme Deal. Zipping Zeus and Zipping Link collided on the second turn. Charm Again and Zipping Zeus collided approaching the home turn. Zipping Zeus eased entering the home straight and collided with Zipping Link.
Stewards spoke to Ms. C. Jones, the trainer of the greyhound Zipping Zeus regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Zipping Zeus was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left wrist. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Zipping Zeus with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms. Jones pleaded guilty to the charge. Zipping Zeus was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
Supreme Deal was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
