Steward's Report

Gundy's Gift was a late scratching at 8:43am due to injury (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Carmine and Lorian Victory were slow to begin.  Rapana checked off Scott It approaching the first turn.  Flick Some Cash and Black Taipan collided several times approaching the first turn and again on the first turn.  Carmine and Scott It collided on the first turn, severely checking Carmine which contacted the running rail, checking Black Taipan as a result.  Banjo Barbie checked off Rapana approaching the home turn.  Lorian Victory and Flick Some Cash collided several times approaching the home turn and again on the home turn.  Black Taipan faltered in the home straight and pulled up.  Rapana and Scott It collided in the home straight.

Carmine was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the right hind, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Black Taipan was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.  Trainer Mr G. Dainton, declined to have his greyhound revetted, therefore acting under GAR 69(A)(1), Stewards charged Black Taipan with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr Dainton pleaded guilty to the charge, Black Taipan was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial, (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any nomination will be accepted.

A sample was taken from Scott It, the winner of the event.
