A pre race sample was taken from Gold Compass.
Gold Compass was quick to begin. Landmark and Pippy Dippy collided approaching the first turn, checking Pippy Dippy. Lucky Brew, Mister Brown, Sub Zero Magic, Pippy Dippy and Rennicane collided on the first turn, checking Pippy Dippy and severely checking Sub Zero Magic which stumbled as a result. Pippy Dippy and Rennicane collided approaching the home turn. Lucky Brew checked off Mister Brown on the home turn. Rennicane crossed to the outside in the home straight.
Sub Zero Magic was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to the left calf. No stand down period was imposed.
