Stewards spoke to Ms Heather Collins, the trainer of the greyhound Norse Bale regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Norse Bale with marring.  Ms Collins pleaded guilty to the charge, Norse Bale was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Whacker Fancy was quick to begin.  Tribe and Liberty Diamond collided soon after the start.  Tribe and Ginza Lion collided on the first turn.  Merinda Estella checked off Liberty Diamond approaching the home turn.  Tribe checked off Exhibition on the home turn.  Ginza Lion and Harriet Bale raced wide on the home turn.  Merinda Estella checked off Exhibition approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Mr P Riley, the handler of Golden Tears, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Golden Tears last raced on 5 July 2016.  Mr Riley stated that the greyhound was returning after being on season and a right metacarpal injury.  Mr Riley also declared a new weight of 30.8 kgs in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Golden Tears last raced at 28.8 kgs.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Kalani Klare trialled over the 460m from box one, weight 25.9 kgs, the greyhound was placed first in a field of four.  The time of the trial was 26:49, the greyhound won by a margin of 1.25.  Kalani Klare was Cleared.
