A pre-race sample was taken from Monoak.
Whacker Fancy was quick to begin. Opalia Bale was slow to begin. Cosmic Fortune and Monoak collided soon after the start, checking Cosmic Fortune which collided with Barellen Genie, resulting in Barellen Genie stumbling. Nitrolicious checked off the heels of Bumble Bee Bolto approaching the first turn. Bekim's Elite and Monoak collided on the first turn, checking Bekim's Elite. Nitrolicious commenced to lose ground approaching the home turn and collided with Cosmic Fortune. Nitrolicious and Barellen Genie collided on the home turn, checking Nitrolicious. .
Nitrolicious was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to both hips, a five day stand down period was imposed.
Barellen Genie was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to the right hindleg metatarsal. No stand down period was imposed.
