Steward's Report
Stylish Bree was slow to begin. Hurricane Sam was very slow to begin (4 lengths). Hurricane Patch eased soon after the start and collided with Cut And Dried. Paddy's Crip and Hurricane Patch collided approaching the first turn. Janray Big Red and Nanny's Poppy collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds. Stylish Bree galloped on Janray Big Red on the first turn checking Janray Big Red, Stylish Bree and Hurricane Sam, Hurricane Sam raced wide as a result. Cut And Dried raced wide approaching the home turn. Stylish Bree raced wide in the home straight.
Hurricane Patch was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 9, it was reported that there was no injury apparent.
Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Sultana the representative of the greyhound Hurricane Patch regarding the greyhound's racing manners soon after the start. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) Stewards charged Hurricane Patch with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Sultana pleaded not guilty to the charge. Hurricane Patch was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Traralgon and it was directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
