Bugsy Taylor was quick to begin.
Red Bicycle, Petra Jay, Railway Maggie, Sundew Johnny, Koochie Koo and Sundaram collided soon after the start checking Petra Jay and Koochie Koo. Petra Jay and Koochie Koo collided approaching the first turn checking Petra Jay. Sundew Johnny checked off Railway Maggie approaching the first turn. Bugsy Taylor checked off Red Bicycle approaching the home turn. Koochie Koo checked off Bugsy Taylor approaching the home turn. Sundaram eased and collided with Koochie Koo approaching the home turn. Daddy Yo raced wide entering the home straight. Red Bicycle and Bugsy Taylor collided entering the home straight checking Red Bicycle.
Red Bicycle was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left shoulder. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Watson, the trainer of the greyhound Sundaram. Sundaram was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right thigh. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(5), the stewards charged Sundaram with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury) and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR69(6), before any future nomination will be accepted.
