Steward's Report
Menin Road and Butterfly Bling were slow to begin. Tarks Jewel, Menin Road, Javaica and Butterfly Bling collided soon after the start. Sonic Missile and Barney's Buddy collided on the first turn. Tarks Jewel galloped on the heels of Barney's Buddy approaching the second turn, checking both greyhounds. Butterfly Bling and Barney's Buddy collided in the back straight. Wy Gunya compounded over the concluding stages of the event.
Menin Road was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left gracilis. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Wy Gunya was vetted and re-vetted following race 9. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right triangle and right biceps. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr R Britton, the trainer of the greyhound Wy Gunya. Stewards deemed the performance of Wy Gunya unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Wy Gunya must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
