Uncle Mumbles was quick to begin. Extra Classy and Amedeo were slow to begin.
Why Not Radar, Platinum's Image, Toe Cutter and Dirty Rich collided soon after the start checking Platinum's Image. Amedeo and Why Not Radar collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn checking Amedeo and Platinum's Image. Uncle Mumbles, Rusty Mahogany and Dirty Rich collided on the first turn checking Rusty Mahogany and Uncle Mumbles. Extra Classy, Why Not Radar, Uncle Mumbles and Rusty Mahogany collided approaching the home turn checking Uncle Mumbles, Rusty Mahogany, Platinum's Image and Amedeo. Extra Classy and Why Not Radar collided on the home turn. Amedeo and Platinum's Image collided several times in the home straight checking Amedeo.
Rusty Mahogany was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury.
Platinum's Image was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right loin. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Amedeo was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right shoulder and cramped in the right thigh. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. After viewing the official patrol films and acting on their own observations, Stewards were of the opinion that Amedeo had cramped after the event and as such no further action was taken.
