A pre race sample was taken from Smokester.
Be Hopeful was slow to begin. Who's That Chap and Totes Amazeballs collided soon after the start, checking Totes Amazeballs. Jack's Legend and Totes Amazeballs collided approaching the first turn. Be Hopeful and Mr Stealer collided on the first turn. Mr Stealer checked off Who's That Chap in the home straight. Mr Stealer and Who's That Chap collided approaching the winning post.
Who's That Chap was vetted following the event, after the greyhound falling approaching the catching pen. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
