Uptown Funk was vetted before the event and was passed fit to race.
Albert's Patch and Cee Jay Magic were slow to begin. Hot Pedro and Uptown Funk collided soon after the start, checking Hot Pedro. Hot Pedro and Albert's Patch collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn. Uptown Funk, Mr Alouette and Imaculee collided on the first turn, checking Mr Alouette and Imaculee. Mr Alouette and Imaculee collided approaching the home turn, checking Mr Alouette. Naughty And Nice raced wide approaching the home turn. Naughty And Nice and Albert's Patch raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight. Hot Pedro checked off Naughty And Nice in the home straight.
Stewards spoke to Mr S.Collyer, the handler of Hot Pedro regarding his failure to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve the greyhound for racing. Stewards charged Mr Collyer with a breach of GAR 46(2) in that he failed to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve the greyhound Hot Pedro. Mr Collyer pleaded guilty to the charge. Mr Collyer was found guilty and issued a fine for $100.
