Stewards spoke to Mr.K.Quinn, the trainer of Slipaway Curly regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Slipaway Curly last raced on 18.June 2015. Mr.Quinn stated that Slipaway Curly was resuming from a right shoulder injury.
Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Abela, the trainer of Secret Marjen regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Secret Marjen last raced on 2nd July 2015. Mr. Abela stated that Secret Marjen was resuming from a spell.
Flashing Bessy and Claretown Tex were slow to begin. Barn A Shakin checked off Go Go Spaghettio approaching the first turn. Slipaway Curly faltered on the home turn and tailed off. Flashing Bessy raced wide in the home straight.
Flashing Bessy was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its right shoulder, right wrist and left thigh. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
