Stewards spoke to Mr R.Chivell, the trainer of Derail regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Derail last raced on 7th May 2015. Mr.Chivell stated that  Derail was resuming from a shoulder injury.

Midori Miss, Latte Donny and Derail were slow to begin.  Swazza's Rocket and No Reply collided soon after the start checking Swazza's Rocket.  Latte Donny and Derail collided approaching the first turn checking Derail.  Kolora Tess, Midori Miss, Queen Elsa and Charlton Charger collided on the first turn checking Queen Elsa.  Latte Donny galloped on the heels of Queen Elsa on the first turn checking Queen Elsa and Derail.  Charlton Charger checked off No Reply approaching the home turn.  Kolora Tess and Charlton Charger collided in the home straight.

Queen Elsa was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Kenilworth Road, Satin Ice and Spare Parts were slow to begin.  Gwen's Pick, Satin Ice and Spare Parts collided soon after the start checking Satin Ice and Spare Parts.  Spare Parts, Calm Bliss and She's A Freebie collided approaching the first turn checking Calm Bliss.  Gwen's Pick checked off Melos Girlfriend on the first turn.  She's A Freebie checked off Gwen's Pick on the first turn.  Gwen's Pick checked off Spare Parts approaching the home turn.  Kenilworth Road and Calm Bliss collided on the home turn causing both greyhounds to race wide.  Calm Bliss and She's A Freebie raced wide in the home straight.

Nikon Bale was slow to begin.  Abbie's Dream and Blush Burst collided soon after the start checking Blush Burst.  Cosmic Don and Flyin' Les Fergi collided soon after the start.  Nikon Bale and Flyin' Les Fergi collided in the back straight checking Flyin' Les Fergi.  Burst Of Magic and Cosmic Don collided on the second turn.  Blush Burst and Cosmic Don collided approaching the home turn causing Cosmic Don to race wide.  Burst Of Magic and Blush Burst collided on the home turn.  Burst Of Magic, Blush Burst and All Bolts collided entering the home straight checking Burst Of Magic which stumbled as a result.  Burst Of Magic checked off Blush Burst in the home straight.  Cosmic Don and Flyin' Les Fergi raced wide in the home straight.

Flashing Bessy and Claretown Tex were slow to begin.  Barn A Shakin checked off Go Go Spaghettio approaching the first turn.  Slipaway Curly faltered on the home turn and tailed off.  Flashing Bessy raced wide in the home straight.

Flashing Bessy was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its right shoulder, right wrist and left thigh.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Stolen Gem was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 7, it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left shoulder.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Baroness Tiffie was quick to begin.  Cosmic Daicos was slow to begin.  Zipping Noel, Velocity Alice, Moonlight Cruise, Speed Chill and Zac's A Sixpence collided soon after the start checking Zipping Noel, Velocity Alice and Speed Chill.  Zipping Noel checked off Moonlight Cruise entering the back straight. Cosmic Daicos raced wide entering the back straight.  Baroness Tiffie and Quaker Bale collided on the second turn checking Quaker Bale.  Speed Chill brushed the running rail approaching the home turn.  Cosmic Daicos raced wide in the home straight.

Dixie Anne was quick to begin.  Chief Winslow, Tear Away Babe, Jill Laker, Touch Of Frost and Maximum Melva collided approaching the first turn checking Chief Winslow and Tear Away Babe.  Chief Winslow and Tear Away Babe collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.

Mr.M.Cauchi, trainer of Cruisy's Joy declared a new weight of 34.3kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Cruisy's Joy last raced at 33.0kg.

Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Raven regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound Eight Hours.  Stewards directed that Eight Hours be boxed first in future events.

Urana Gold trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 1, weight 26.2kgs.  The greyhound was placed 2nd, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 23.22. The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 9.75 lengths.  Urana Gold was not cleared.
