Steward's Report
Hydra and My Names Schultz were slow to begin. Kraken Concord and Hydra collided soon after the start. Bryvon and Wez Gordy collided approaching the first turn. Kraken Concord, Hydra and My Names Schultz collided on the first turn, checking Kraken Concord and Hydra. Schmoo and Sparkling Kitty collided approaching the home turn, checking Schmoo and My Names Schultz. Sparkling Kitty and Coopnarcha collided approaching the home turn, checking Coopnarcha. Hydra and Schmoo raced wide in the home straight. Sparkling Kitty marred the running of Wez Gordy in the home straight. Bryvon, Wez Gordy and Sparkling Kitty collided approaching the winning post.
Sparkling Kitty was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left shoulder, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Hydra was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right shoulder, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to M McGuire, the representative of the greyhound Sparkling Kitty regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Sparkling Kitty with marring. M McGuire pleaded not guilty to the charge, Sparkling Kitty was found guilty and suspended the greyhound for 3 months (all tracks) and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(b), before any future nomination will be accepted.
MEETING COMMENTS:
Satisfactory Trial Results - Suspicious Sam trialled over the 390m from box 1, weight 30.2kgs, the greyhound was placed first in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.21, the greyhound won by a margin of 4 lengths. Suspicious Sam was cleared.
