The all clear to this event was delayed momentarily after a number of plovers remained on the track while the greyhounds were racing in the home straight. Acting on their own observations and reviewing the patrol films, Stewards were satisfied that no runners were inconvenienced and all clear was given.

Stewards spoke to Mr B. Keel, handler of the greyhound Jonny Black Fox which had not raced since 24 May 2015. Mr Keel stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after recovering from a reoccuring back muscle injury.

Stewards spoke to Mr R Fisher, the handler of Lektra Tily, regarding his failure to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve the greyhound for racing.  Stewards charged Mr Fisher with a breach of GAR 46(2) in that he failed to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve the greyhound Lektra Tily.  Mr Fisher pleaded guilty to the charge.  Mr Fisher was found guilty and fined the sum of $100.00.

P Matthews, trainer of Cosmic Pauly declared a new weight of 31.7kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Cosmic Pauly last raced at 30.4kgs.

Hydra was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right shoulder, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to M McGuire, the representative of the greyhound Sparkling Kitty regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post.  Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Sparkling Kitty with marring.  M McGuire pleaded not guilty to the charge, Sparkling Kitty was found guilty and suspended the greyhound for 3 months (all tracks) and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(b), before any future nomination will be accepted.

MEETING COMMENTS:

Satisfactory Trial Results - Suspicious Sam trialled over the 390m from box 1, weight 30.2kgs, the greyhound was placed first in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.21, the greyhound won by a margin of 4 lengths. Suspicious Sam was cleared.
