Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Wood, the trainer of Sidute regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Sidute last raced on 21 August 2016 and is returning from a left wrist injury.
Elusive Pearl was quick to begin. Why Not Barrel was slow to begin. Poppy Pete and Zipping Lady collided on the first turn. Lopsided and Sidute collided on the first turn, checking Sidute. Poppy Pete and Zipping Lady collided on the second turn. Poppy Pete checked off Zipping Lady entering the back straight. Lopsided, Why Not Barrel and Diegonator collided approaching the third turn.
