A pre-race sample was taken from Barroom Express.
Barrom Express and Daintree King were slow to begin. Aston Tulloch crossed in on the first turn checking Aston Tulloch, Oakmont Blonde, Barroom Blazer and Mighty Mish. Mighty Mish and Nero Rose collided on the first turn checking Mighty Mish. Oakmont Blonde and Aston Tulloch collided entering the back straight checking Aston Tulloch. Oakmont Blonde and Barroom Express collided on the second turn.

Due to a TAB fault the semaphore board was unable to be updated and continued to display race Seven for races Eight and Nine.
