Star Desire was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right monkey muscle and spike wounds to the left hock and wrist, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. N. Kosky, the trainer of Almani Elite regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Almani Elite last raced on 29 May 2016 and is returning after a right back muscle injury. Mr. Kosky also declared a new weight of 33.6 for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Almani Elite last raced at 32.0.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Big Bad Badge trialled over the 311m from box 4, weight 34.4kgs, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 17.72, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 3 3/4. Big Bad Badge was cleared.
