A pre race sample was taken from Shot To Glory.
Lucky's Spirit, Shooters Echo and Shanlyn Pippin were slow to begin. Lucky's Spirit and Scanez Jewel collided soon after the start. Lucky's Spirit contacted the running rail on the first turn and lost ground. Fleur De Rose and Shooters Echo collided on the first turn, checking Fleur De Rose and Scanez Jewel. Lars Boy and Gardot collided on the first turn. Shanlyn Pippin galloped on the heels of Lars Boy approaching the home turn, checking Shanlyn Pippin, Lars Boy and Shooters Echo. Fleur De Rose raced wide on the home turn.
Stewards noted that the muzzle on Shooters Echo became dislodged during the running of the race.
