Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. N. Kosky, the trainer of Almani Elite regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Almani Elite last raced on 29 May 2016 and is returning after a right back muscle injury. Mr. Kosky also declared a new weight of 33.6 for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Almani Elite last raced at 32.0.
A pre race sample was taken from Almani Elite.
Sunny Village and Bound For Alice were quick to begin. Gats Pacino, Pawfection, Jimmy Vella and Miss Dozer were slow to begin. Gats Pacino and Pawfection collided approaching the first turn, checking Gats Pacino. Sunny Village, Come To Play, Almani Elite and Bound For Alice collided approaching the first turn, severely checking Jimmy Vella, causing Bound For Alice to fall as a result. Sunny Village, Come To Play and Almani Elite collided on the first turn. Gats Pacino checked off Miss Dozer approaching the home turn. Sunny Village raced wide approaching the home turn, checking Come To Play and Pawfection. Come To Play crossed to the rail entering the home straight, checking Gats Pacino and Jimmy Vella. Gats Pacino checked off Pawfection in the home straight.
Bound For Alice was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left flexor tendon and abrasions to the left and right foreleg, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
