Steward's Report
Lord Kitchener and Sugar Hit Sambia were slow to begin. Kaitoke Diamond, Too Sick, Lemon Patchwork, Jayco Bale and Zarko's Dream collided on the first turn, checking Jayco Bale and Zarko's Dream, and severely checking Lemon Patchwork; causing Too Sick to fall and Sugar Hit Sambia to race wide. Lord Kitchener and Zarko's Dream collided on the second turn. Kaitoke Diamond and Jayco Bale collided on the home turn. Sugar Hit Sambia eased and pulled up on the home turn.
Too Sick was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left shoulder muscle, a seven day stand down period was imposed.
Sugar Hit Sambia was vetted and revetted following event eleven. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Romagnino, the trainer of the greyhound Sugar Hit Sambia regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Sugar Hit Sambia with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Romagnino pleaded guilty to the charge, Sugar Hit Sambia was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
