A pre-race sample was taken from Sultan's Boy.

Green Jersey was quick to begin.  Sultan's Pride was slow to begin.  Jakey Rocket, Sultan's Boy and Bozza Boloney collided on the first turn checking Sultan's Boy.  Sultan's Pride contacted the running rail on the first turn and raced wide throughout the event.

Sultan's Pride was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left stifle and left and right pencil muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Terra Flash was a late scratching at 3.15pm on the advice of the Club's Veterinary Surgeon due to an elevated temperature.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Call Me Matt.

Cincinnati Lass and Caleb's Boy were slow to begin.  I'm Livin' It and Flying Stealth collided on the first turn.  Flying Stealth was checked off I'm Livin' It on the second turn.  I'm Livin' It and Wild Hunny collided on the home turn.

A pre-race sample was taken from Corroboree.

Vanity Affair, Corroboree and Parrot Is Loose were quick to begin.  Akina Blitz was slow to begin.  Can't Believe It, My Mate Horse and Akina Blitz collided soon after the start checking My Mate Horse.  Vanity Affair was checked off Corroboree approaching the first turn.  Can't Believe It, General's Girl and Simply Stealth collided on the first turn severley checking Can't Believe It.  Simply Stealth and My Mate Horse collided on the second turn.  Simply Stealth was checked off Parrot Is Loose approaching the third turn.  My Mate Horse and Akina Blitz collided on the third turn.  My Mate Horse raced errratically entering the home straight. My Mate Horse and General's Girl collided approaching the winning post.

Following an incident in the catching pen between General's Girl and My Mate Horse, witnessed by the catching pen attendants Stewards directed both greyhounds be vetted.

General's Girl was found to be coming on season, a 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Hall the trainer of the greyhound My Mate Horse.  Stewards deemed the performance of My Mate Horse unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71 Stewards directed that My Mate Horse must perform a satisfactory triqal all tracks before any future nomination will be accepted.  Stewards took into consideration the vets findings and the incident in the catching pen when deciding on the penalty.

A pre-race sample was taken from Lektra Burst.

Azza, Dr. Peregrine, Lektra Burst and Sunset Believer were slow to begin.  Tiger Jams, Jarrad Keats and Grand Cayman collided on the first turn checking Grand Cayman and severely checking Jarrad Keats.  Jarrad Keats and Lektra Burst collided on the first turn and again in the back straight checking both greyhounds.  Dream Wave and Dr. Peregrine collided approaching the home turn.

Lektra Burst was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

A pre-race sample was taken from Extra Cuddles.

Coopnarcha and Uncool Albert were slow to begin.  Extra Cuddles, Kerrie's One and Busta Voe collided soon after the start.  Extra Cuddles was checked off Dr. Toretto on the first turn.  Busta Voe and Coopnarcha collided in the back straight.  Busta Voe was checked off Extra Cuddles in the back straight.  Busta Voe was checked off Kerrie's One on the second turn.  Elswyk Gal and Willowvale Pearl collided in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr. N. Martin the representative for Kerrie's One and reminded him of his responsibilities regarding his failure to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve the greyhound for racing.

A pre-race sample was taken from Sorry Maurie.

Collinda Warrior and Sorry Maurie were slow to begin. Zipping Stu and Select Scott collided on the first turn checking Select Scott.  Dr. Kestrel was checked off Collinda Warrior on the first turn checking Collinda Warrior and severely checking Sorry Maurie.  Collinda Warrior and Just Run Left collided in the back straight.  Select Scott crossed out approahcing the home turn checking Dr. Kestrel.  

Select Scott was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

Zipping Stu was vetted following the event on the request of the trainer.  It was reported that the greyhound showed signs of the thumps.  No stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. G. McMillan the trainer of Zipping Stu and advised him that the greyhound will be closely monitored in future events.

A pre-race sample was taken from Flywheel Sprite.

Tweedle Dumb and Shackleton were slow to begin.  Dr. Dynomite and Arvo's Violet collided approaching the first turn.  Tweedle Dumb and Shackleton collided approaching the first turn.  Dr. Dynomite, Arvo's Violet, Nachos Gracias and Tweedle Dumb collided on the first turn checking Nachos Gracias and Tweedle Dumb.  Careless Cookie and Flywheel Sprite collided on the first turn.  Careless Cookie was checked off Flywheel Sprite approaching the home turn.

Zipping Laura was a late scratching at 3.26pm on the advice of the Club's Veterinary Sugeon due to injury.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Willowvale Wings was quick to begin.  Dr. Poppel was slow to begin.  He's Your Mate, Kayo King and Nirranda Ripper collided soon after the start checking all three greyhounds.  Dr. Poppel and He's Your Mate collided approaching the first turn checking He's Your Mate.  He's Your Mate and Nirranda Ripper collided approaching the first turn.  Dr. Poppel and Kayo King collided on the second turn severley checking He's Your Mate, Kayo King and Nirranda Ripper, He's Your Mate and Nirranda Ripper raced wide as a result.  Dr. Poppel and Fiery Universe collided in the home straight.

Royal Bruno, Midori Miss, Almani Fury and Nirranda Girl were slow to begin.  Zafonic Express and Dynamite Dex collided on the first turn checking Zafonic Express.  Midori Miss and Dynamite Dex collided enteirng the home staight.  Zafonic Express and Nirranda Girl collided in the home straight checking Royal Bruno, Zafonic Express and Nirranda Girl.

Lauren Kasey and Black Train were quick to begin.  Sunset Senorita, Quite White and In Dee Beginning were slow to begin.  Quite White was checked off Little Ferret on the first turn.  In Dee Beginning was checked off Sunset Senorita entering the back straight.  Sunset Senorita was checked off Quite White on the home turn.

Brandeen Roma was quick to begin.  Parisian Magic was slow to begin.  Cowboy Jury and King Of Sunshine collided on the first turn checking King Of Sunshine.

Vintage Box was slow to begin.  Miss Georgia May, Vintage Box and Magic Gold collided soon after the start checking Magic Gold.  Vintage Box was checked off Miss Georgia May on the first turn.  Ravel and Onto Jatt collided approaching the home turn, both greyhounds raced wide as a result. Black Bindi and Lucky's Spirit collided on the home turn checking Lucky's Spirit.  Miss Georgia May and Magic Gold collided on the home turn.

Satisfactory trial results:-

Ripper trialled over 315 metres from box 1, weight 31.3kg, the greyhound was placed second in a field of 6.  The time of the trial was 18.59 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of .5 length.  Ripper was cleared.

Ballymac Gunnar trialled over 315 metres from box 6, weight 33.2kg, the greyhound was placed fifth in a field of 6.  The time of the trial was 18.59 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 4 lengths. Ballymac Gunnar was cleared.

Satisfactory trial (GAR 77A):-

Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Busuttil the representative of Kiyoshi regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Kiyoshi last raced on 31/03/16. Mr. Busuttil stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a torn triangle muscle.  Pursuant to GAR 77A Kiyoshi trialled over 315 metres from box 8, weight 31.8kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of 6.  The time of the trial was 18.59 secs, the greyhound won by a margin of .5 length.  Kiyoshi was cleared.

Stewards spoke to Mr. T. Whitford the trainer of Blue Fusion regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Blue Fusion last raced on 05/04/16.  Mr. Whitford stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a right shoulder injury.  Pursuant to GAR 77A Blue Fusion trialled over 315 metres from box 3, weight 26.8kg, the greyhound was placed sixth in a field of 6.  The time of the trial was 18.59 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 4.5 lengths.  Blue Fusion was cleared.
