Cheif Tonto and She Loves Me were slow to begin.  Mini Tron and My Alibi collided soon after the start.  Big Bad Badge and Mini Tron collided soon after the start.  Okay Custard, Big Bad Badge and My Alibi collided at the 250m mark.  Mini Tron crossed to the rail approaching the 200m mark.  Mini Tron checked off My Alibi at the 50m mark.

Vista Princess and Rory Brown were slow to begin.  Trademark Bliss crossed to the outside at the 300m mark, checking Mini Dozer and Gold Odessa.  Trademark Bliss and Gold Odessa collided at the 275m mark.  Mini Dozer and Gold Odessa collided at the 200m mark.  Tip Toe and Miss Springer collided at the 150m mark.  Blue Miller Girl and Gold Odessa collided approaching the winning post.

Vista Princess was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following race 8, it was reported that the greyhound was dehydrated, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to catcher Mr. B. Meachem after it was established the greyhound Blue Miller Girl did not have a catcher in this event. Stewards were unable to clearly determine who was at fault, and reminded Mr Meachem of his responsibility when accepting greyhounds to catch.

Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Johnson, the trainer of Shakey Benz regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Shakey Benz last raced on 10 July 2016 and is returning after several failed nominations.

Vane Blue was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained minor grazing.  No stand down period was imposed.

Like A Fancy was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured right hind toe, a 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Augustus Dahloop and De Goey collided soon after the start.  Marlow's Express, Augustus Dagloop, De Goey, Jacqui Blax and Regional Chief collided soon after the start.  Augustus Dagloop crossed to the outside at the 300m mark.  Jacqui Blax, Regional Chief and Sturridge collided at the 150m mark.  Jacqui Blax and Blackjack's Back collided at the 75m mark.

Grandis was slow to begin.  Haiyan and Extradition collided soon after the start.  Keep Talking, Extradition and Horey's Pal collided at the 300m mark, checking Extradition.  Johnny's Return and Secret Society collided at the 300m mark.  Johnny's Return, Secret Society and Extradition collided at the 250m mark, checking Secret Society and Extradition, causing Secret Society to stumble as a result.  Bourbon An Kahn and Keep Talking collided at the 250m mark.  Johnny's Return and Keep Talking collided at the 150m mark.  Johnny's Return and Horey's Pal collided at the 50m mark.

Arctic Blaze and Still Just Under were slow to begin.  Piano Black checked off Tweedle Dee approaching the 250m mark.  Tweedle Dee checked off Dynamite Dozer at the 200m mark and collided with Milly O'Muffin and Dozer Gold.

Mrs. C. Paez, representative of Tills Henry declared a new weight of 32.4 for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Tills Henry last raced at 33.5.

Tills Henry and Soxy collided soon after the start and again approaching the 250m mark.  Oaklands and Tills Henry collided approaching the 200m mark.  Oaklands checked off Cosmic Coad at the 200m mark.

Stewards spoke to Mr. F. Tasca, the representative of Madame Black regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Madame Black last raced on 10 July 2016 and is returning from acidosis and a spell. Mr. Tasca declared a new weight of 30.8 for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Madame Black last raced at 29.2.

The start of this race was delayed by approximately 5 minutes to allow for extra veterinary duties to be performed.

Sultan Of Swing was slow to begin.  Master Phelps crossed to the rail soon after the start, checking Bejay The Dejay, Pappa Gallo, Hetalia Bale, Madame Black and Hot Genetics.  Hetalia Bale and Pappa Gallo collided at the 300m mark.  Hetalia Bale crossed to the rail approaching the 250m mark.  Pappa Gallo and Madame Black collided at the 200m mark.  Hot Genetics crossed to the ral at the 150m mark.
