Steward's Report
Sesame Street, Bubba's Lad and Van Damm were slow to begin. Bubba's Lad and Van Damm collided soon after the start. Ecnal checked off Ashtastic approaching the first turn. Ashtastic, Sesame Street, Bubba's Lad and Van Damm collided on the first turn, checking Bubba's Lad and Ecnal. Rubble To Excel and Sesame Street collided on the first turn. Cable Runner and Sesame Street collided approaching the second turn. Ashtastic and Van Damm collided approaching the second turn, checking Ashtastic. Ashtastic raced wide in the back straight. Cable Runner checked off Sesame Street entering the home straight. Cable Runner veered in and marred Sesame Street in the home straight and again approaching the winning post.
Cable Runner was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Ms. E. Johannsen, the handler of the greyhound Cable Runner regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Cable Runner with marring. Ms. Johannsen pleaded guilty to the charge, Cable Runner was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
