Steward's Report
A pre race sample was taken from Johnny's Return.
Swan's Waddle was quick to begin. Guillermo was slow to begin. As Sweet As, Jack's Rainbow and Walk On By collided soon after the start. Swan's Waddle and As Sweet As collided approaching the first turn, severely checking As Sweet As. Walk On By and Swan's Waddle collided on the first turn, checking Swan's Waddle. As Sweet As raced wide on the home turn. Walk On By and Mick Mow collided approaching the winning post. Walk On By failed to pursue the lure with due commitment approaching the winning post.
Walk On By was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following race 12, it was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Ms T Fasoli, the trainer of the greyhound Walk On By regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Walk On By with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms Fasoli pleaded guilty to the charge, Walk On By was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
