Jamari Belle and Permafrost collided approaching the first turn severely checking Jamari Belle. Shoot The Moon and Zipping Luna collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn checking Shoot The Moon. Desert Haze raced wide approaching the home turn. Desert Haze and Zipping Luna raced wide in the home straight.

Lopsided and Mystic Powers collided approaching the home turn. Mirror Reality and Mystic Powers collided on the home turn and again in the home straight.

In A Pickle and Burnt Rubber collided soon after the start. Demon Jesse crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Allen Gable. In A Pickle and Flabba Gabba collided approaching the first turn checking In A Pickle, Flabba Gabba and Burnt Rubber. Yuken Duet and Dr. Melezar collided on the first turn checking Dr. Melezar. Rub The Buddha and Dr. Melezar collided entering the home straight checking both greyhounds, Rub The Buddha raced wide as a result.

Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Bye, the trainer of Flywheel Magic regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Flywheel Magic last raced on 17 July 2016 and is returning after a left monkey injury.

Vienna Pink checked off Why Not Mick approaching the first turn.  Gilberto crossed to the rail approaching the first turn, checking Flywheel Magic and Dessie Walnut.  Rennicane and Angry Alley collided on the first turn, checking Angry Alley and severely checking Dessie Walnut.  Vienna Pink and Rennicane raced wide in the home straight.

Mr. I. Brown was fined the sum of $50 for failing to ensure the registration card/weight card were produced for the greyhound Vienna Pink pursuant to GAR 33.

Up The Attitude and Shazzle's Boy collided soon after the start.  Up The Attitude, Shelby Thunder and Shazzle's Boy collided approaching the first turn, checking Up The Attitude and Shazzle's Boy.  Shelby Thunder and Darpa Bale collided on the first turn.  Monster Roar and Felton Bale collided on the home turn.

Jay Jay Bee was a late scratching at 5:47pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to an infected tail tip. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Superior Shane was quick to begin.  Rotten Render was slow to begin.  Superior Shane crossed to the rail soon after the start, checking Sanz Marlow and Becky Bale.  Becky Bale and Little Tacka collided approaching the first turn, checking Becky Bale.  Sanz Marlow and Becky Bale collided on the first turn, checking Sanz Marlow which contacted the running rail as a result.  Sanz Marlow and Rotten Render collided entering the home straight, checking both greyhounds.

Quink, Dozer Tron and Mighty Sprite were quick to begin.  Ataraxia, It's My Secret, Dozer Tron and Choclotto collided soon after the start, checking Choclotto and It's My Secret.  Black Paws and Quink collided several times approaching the first turn, checking both greyhounds.  It's My Secret checked off Quink on the home turn.  It's My Secret and Dozer Tron raced wide on the home turn.  Black Paws and Choclotto collided entering the home straight.  It's My Secret raced wide in the home straight.

A pre race sample was taken from Johnny's Return.

Swan's Waddle was quick to begin.  Guillermo was slow to begin.  As Sweet As, Jack's Rainbow and Walk On By collided soon after the start.  Swan's Waddle and As Sweet As collided approaching the first turn, severely checking As Sweet As.  Walk On By and Swan's Waddle collided on the first turn, checking Swan's Waddle.  As Sweet As raced wide on the home turn.  Walk On By and Mick Mow collided approaching the winning post.  Walk On By failed to pursue the lure with due commitment approaching the winning post.

Walk On By was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following race 12, it was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Ms T Fasoli, the trainer of the greyhound Walk On By regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Walk On By with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms Fasoli pleaded guilty to the charge, Walk On By was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Rowley, the representative of Bare Bones regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Bare Bones last raced on 24 May 2016 and is returning after having a left side toe injury. Mr. Rowley also declared a new weight of 33.5 for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Bare Boines last raced at 32.3.

Annunaki and Splash Of White were quick to begin.  Snow Matter and Heleray Steele were slow to begin.  Aston Philou checked off Bare Bones on the first turn.  Aston Philou and Bare Bones collided approaching the home turn, checking both greyhounds.  Aston Philou and Snow Matter collided entering the home straight.
