A pre race sample was taken from Bitta Bling.
Major Agent was slow to begin.
Mahogany Royale crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Rare Bear, Go Jacko Go and Bomber Jack. Rare Bear checked off Chief Tyson on the first turn. Major Agent checked off Chief Tyson entering the back straight. Major Agent checked off Bitta Bling on the third turn checking Bomber Jack. Bitta Bling and Chief Tyson collided approaching the home turn checking Chief Tyson. Go Jacko Go raced wide in the home straight.
Rare Bear was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained sand burn to both hind muscles. No stand down period was imposed.
A sample was taken from Mahogany Royale - winner of the event.
Stewards spoke to handler D. Middlin regarding her difficulty in boxing the greyhound Mahogany Royale. Stewards directed that Mahogany Royale be boxed first in future events.
