Stress Star and Silvermere were slow to begin. Billy's On Fire and Lady Tron collided soon after the start. Mary's Tam and Kilty Miss collided at the 275 metre mark. Silvermere and Oriental Katana collided at the 150 metre mark. Billy's On Fire and Kilty Miss collided approaching the winning post.
Stress Star was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
