A pre-race sample was taken from Little Caviar.

Swift Lacey and Heineken Girl were slow to begin.  Regal Jazz and Ataraxia collided soon after the start.  Xylem Hay and Little Caviar collided approaching the first turn.  Blazing Nitro checked off Classy Arrow on the first turn checking Xylem Hay and Little Caviar.  Xylem Hay checked off Blazing Nitro on the home turn.  Blazing Nitro and Regal Jazz collided in the home straight.  Classy Arrow galloped on the heels of Heineken Girl in the home straight.

Trias was slow to begin.  Yipy Mississippi and Zipping Jock collided soon after the start.  Zipping Jock checked off Calm Bliss on the first turn.  Zipping Jock and Calm Bliss collided approaching the home turn.  Cosmic George and Yipy Mississippi collided on the home turn severely checking Cosmic George.

Cosmic George was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right monkey muscle.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Trias, which trailled the field throughout the event, was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 6, it was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its right wrist and right elbow.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Admiral Bay, A post race sample was subsequently taken.

Denya was slow to begin.  Dynamic Dash, Cosmic Goldie and Blossom Noir collided soon after the start checking Cosmic Goldie.  Eumeralla Flash, Admiral Bay and Black Tikka collided approaching the first turn checking Admiral Bay.  Eumeralla Flash, Black Tikka and Gangalla Lodge collided on the first turn checking Black Tikka, Dynamic Dash, Cosmic Goldie and Blossom Noir.  Black Tikka and Cosmic Goldie collided approaching the home turn severely checking Black Tikka.

Black Tikka was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left fan muscle.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Maris Gold was slow to begin.  Mega Jewels and Mag Spring collided soon after the start.  Southwood Jack and Rampaging Rosie collided approaching the first turn checking Southwood Jack and Mag Spring.  Southwood Jack and Mega Jewels collided on the first turn severely checking Mega Jewels.  Rampaging Rosie raced wide on the home turn.

Mega Jewels was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Duval was slow to begin.  Heart In Motion and Jimmy Who collided soon after the start.  Rebel Commander and American Monster collided soon after the start.  Cousin Cosmo and Heart In Motion collided approaching the first turn.  Heart In Motion, Rebel Commander and Duval collided on the first turn checking Rebel Commander and American Monster and severely checking Duval and Nice Nurse Frank.  Jimmy Who and American Monster collided in the home straight.

American Monster was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its left hip and left elbow.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Nice Nurse Frank was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Arolok Jane, Zulu Retreat and Ernie Old were slow to begin.  Arolok Jane and Zulu Retreat collided soon after the start.  Ernie Old, Spreading Rumors and Villainous collided approaching the first turn checking Spreading Rumors.  Ernie Old checked off Bannister Bale on the first turn.  Infinite Senor checked off Bannister Bale approaching the home turn.  Infinite Senor and Villainous collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn.  Zulu Retreat and Bannister Bale collided approaching the winning post.

Red Sally was a late scratching at 11.35am on Veterinary advice (GAR 37) (fleas)). A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a Veterinary certificate of clearance, before any future nomination will be acceoted.

Gitcha Rich was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured left hind toe.  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Cazar Rose was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Satisfactory Trials

Belena Prince trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 2, weight 29.7kgs.  The greyhound was placed 1st, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 22.18.  The greyhound won by a margin of 4 lengths.  Belena Prince was cleared.

Ashanti Alinga trailled over the 390 metre distance from box 4, weight 28.7kgs.  The greyhound was placed 4th, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 22.18.  The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 15 lengths.  Ashanti Alinga was not cleared.

Mr. P. Teuma, trainer of Ashanti Alinga redeclared a new weight of 28.7kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Ashanti Alinga last raced at 27.1kgs.
