Steward's Report
Arvo's Nico was a late scratching at 3:14pm on the advice of the Club's Veterinary Surgeon due to a right pencil muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. Wayne Gent, trainer of Matari's Lad in regards to the extended period of time between the greyhound's races. Matari's Lad last raced on the 26th December 2014. Mr. Gent stated that Matari's Lad was retruning to race after a change of kennels and a new trainer. Stewards noted Mr. Gent's explanation.
Mr. Wayne Gent the trainer of Matari's Lad declared a new weight of 29.5kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Matari's Lad last raced at 31.0kg.
Amlin Boy was quick to begin. Matari's Lad, Happy Colour and Lucky Andy were slow to begin. Robyn Joy and Amlin Boy collided soon after the start. Silent Stealth and Lucky Andy collided soon after the start. Matari's Lad and Happy Colour collided soon after the start checking Matari's Lad. Robyn Joy was checked off Doobstar on the first turn. Doobstar was checked off Silent Stealth approaching the home turn. Lucky Andy was checked off Robyn Joy on the home turn.
Matari's Lad was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound was found to have injured hamstrings and the thumps, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
