This Is Spartan was quick to begin. Pacific Cruiser and Geebah Joan were slow to begin. Late Show Queen and This Is Spartan collided soon after the start checking This Is Spartan and Pacific Cruiser. Lunar Magic was checked off Late Show Queen on the first turn checking Reatily Shintaro, Pacific Cruiser raced wide as a result. Lunar Magic was checked off Reatily Shintaro approaching the home turn. Reatily Shintaro and Arvo's Texan collided on the home turn causing Reatily Shintaro to fall. Geebah Joan was checked off Pacific Cruiser approaching the winning post.
Reatily Shintaro was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left shoulder and a fractured left wrist, a 28 day stand down period was imposed.
