Steward's Report

Montoey, Bannister Bale, Evers Bale, Nockabout Aussie and Hilltop Senorita collided approaching the first turn checking Bannister Bale, Nockabout Aussie and Evers Bale; Evers Bale raced awkwardly and lost considerable ground as a result.  Montoey and Hilltop Senorita collided on the first turn checking Montoey.  Bannister Bale checked off Montoey on the first turn.  Montoey and Bannister collided approaching the second turn.  Oops checked off Hilltop Senorita approaching the second turn.  Jen Zarr Go and Nockabout Aussie collided approaching the third turn checking both greyhounds.  Bannister Bale checked off Nockabout Aussie on the third turn and collided with Hilltop Senorita.  Montoey and Bannister Bale collided approaching the home turn checking Montoey.  Evers Bale and Hilltop Senorita collided approaching the home turn checking Evers Bale.  Jen Zarr Go, Nockabout Aussie and Bannister Bale collided on the home turn checking Jen Zarr Go.

Evers Bale was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 9, it was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr R. Camilleri, trainer of Evers Bale regarding the actions of the greyhound approaching the first turn. Acting on their own observations, viewing the official replays and taking further evidence from Dr M. Bell, Stewards were satisfied that the loss of ground suffered by the greyhound was due to the interference received, and no further action was taken.
