Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr W. McMahon, the Trainer of Dr Phil with regards to the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Mr McMahon stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after sustaining a sesamoid injury. Stewards noted Mr McMahon's comments.
Pursuant to GAR 104(6) Starter Ms B.Chignell did not act in any official capacity for this event.
Woofenden was slow to begin. Dr Phil and Cosmic Yap collided on the first turn, checking Cosmic Yap, Unbound, Willowvale Black and severely checking You Say So which lost considerable ground as a result.
You Say So was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Subsequently to the event Stewards spoke to the trainer of Waterfront, Ms D.Johnston, regarding the greyhound's apparent improved performance this evening. Ms Johnston stated that the greyhound trialled at the track last Monday over the 315m and ran the second quickest trial of the day. She also noted that after the greyhound had jumped smartly this evening the greyhound had a clear run throughout the event. Stewards noted Mr Johnston's comments and directed that a sample be taken from the greyhound.
