General's Girl stayed in the boxes and took no part in the event.

Maserati Rev and Cee Jay Mac collided at the 200m mark and again at the 150m mark.

General's Girl was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Ms V.Watson, the trainer of the greyhound General's Girl regarding the greyhounds performance. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged General's Girl with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms Watson pleaded guilty to the charge, General's Girl was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Elusive Pearl was slow to begin. Lacey's Lad, Major Burst and Pugnacious collided soon after the start. Pugnacious and Admiral Bay collided several times approaching the winning post, checking Admiral Bay.

Admiral Bay was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards issued a warning to Mr J. Sayle, the trainer of Admiral Bay regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post.

Major Moe and Roberts collided soon after the start. Black Mumbo, Awesome Premier and Dashing Chief collided at the 300m mark, causing Dashing Chief to collide with Roberts. Awesome Premier, Dashing Chief and Roberts collided at the 250m mark, checking Dashing Chief. Awesome Premier and Roberts collided at the 200m mark, checking Roberts.

Warby Gunner was slow to begin. You Can't Play and Yessa collided soon after the start. Run Plebbie Run and Little Sport collided soon after the start. You Can't Play and Emi's Boy Murph collided at the 300m mark. Yessa checked off Emi's Boy Murph at the 275m mark. Girl Guide and Emi's Boy Murph collided several times at the 150m mark. Run Plebbie Run and Emi's Boy Murph collided approaching the winning post.

Yessa was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left wrist, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Narisawa and no illness was detected. The greyhound was a late scratching at 11.08am due to weight variation (GAR39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr D Drew was fined the sum of $100.

Stewards spoke to Mr P Handley, the trainer of Brooklyn Babe regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Brooklyn Babe last raced on 4th May, 2015. Mr Handley stated that greyhound had been finding trouble in the last few starts and had been freshened with a good spell. 

Final Deception was slow to begin. Little Nitro crossed to the outside soon after the start. Cristal Surf and Final Deception collided soon after the start. Snaphook Sticka and Ladies Kay collided at the 275m mark. Cristal Surf and Brooklyn Babe collided at the 100m mark. Little Nitro and Brooklyn Babe collided approaching the winning post.

Snaphook Sticka was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained spike wounds to the right front foot. No stand down period was imposed.

A pre race sample was taken from Dig Deep Bert.

Select Sanz crossed to the outside soon after the start, checking Bush Caviar, Major Talent and Proven Glady. Silvertop, Bush Caviar and Major Talent collided at the 300m mark. Bush Caviar and Proven Glady collided at the 275m mark. Bush Caviar crossed to the outside at the 250m mark, checking Proven Glady and Major Talent. Dig Deep Bert eased at the 150m mark. Usain Burst and Major Talent collided at the 100m mark. Bush Caviar eased approaching the winning post, checking Select Sanz.

Stewards spoke to Mr I.Chircop, the trainer of the greyhound Bush Caviar regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Bush Caviar was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right triangle and right shoulder, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR69(B)(1), the stewards charged Bush Caviar with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Chircop pleaded not guilty to the charge, Bush Caviar was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Dig Deep Bert was vetted and after being re-vetted following event 9, it was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr R.Gatt, the trainer of the greyhound Dig Deep Bert regarding the greyhounds racing manners at the 150m mark. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Dig Deep Bert with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Gatt pleaded guilty to the charge, Dig Deep Bert was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Andelven and Bonzo were slow to begin. Uno Rae and Air Candy collided at the 150m mark. Black Oak checked off Andelven approaching the winning post. Enry's Suprize and Black Oak collided approaching the winning post.

Kirabilli Rosie crossed in soon after the start, checking Civil Pursuit, causing Conquer Fear and Nockabout Aussie to collide. Young Hawke and Civil Pursuit collided at the 300m mark. Conquer Fear and Nockabout Aussie collided at the 250m mark. Gospel Lass and Kirabilli Rosie collided approaching the winning post.

Spooked and Better Gem were slow to begin. Spooked and Alfred Benz collided soon after the start. Buy Me checked off Miss Jay Mac at the 300m mark. Spooked and Alfred Benz collided several times from the 150m mark to the 100m mark. Black Tikka and Lektra Kirky collided at the 100m mark, checking Black Tikka. Black Tikka crossed to the outside approaching the winning post and collided with Better Gem. Spooked and Buy Me collided approaching the winning post.

Stewards were unable to contact Mr R Martin after he was required to speak with Stewards for not having a catcher engaged for Lektra Kirky in this event. Stewards will endeavour to conatct Mr Martin in the coming days to resolve the matter .

UPDATE:

Stewards spoke with Mr R Martin on 10.8.15 regarding his failure to have a catcher for his greyhound in this event. Mr Martin stated he did engage Mrs H Gates to catch and was unsure as to why she did not fulfil this engagement. Mr Martin's explanation was noted and he was reminded of his responsibilities for not coming to see the Stewards as requested prior to leaving the course.

Mrs H Gates was questioned as to her failure to fulfil her catching engagement for Mr Martin and stated that she had become ill prior to this event and was unable to catch or find a replacement. Stewards noted the explanation and asked Mrs Gates that when possible to try and notify someone if she is unable to catch in future.  

Shot Of Cain and Cool Lois collided soon after the start. Mercury Benz and Da Mishka collided several times from the 250m mark to the 200m mark, checking Mercury Benz. That Acid Summer and Carlanna Sharna collided several times approaching the winning post, checking That Acid Summer and Da Mishka.

Stewards spoke to Mr R Stephens, the trainer of Carlanna Sharna and catcher, Mr B Meachem after this greyhound was not caught following the event. Stewards could not ascertain who was at fault in this instance and took no further action. 

Stewards spoke to Mr G Carr, the trainer of Miner Rush regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Miner Rush last raced on 5th Jan, 2015. Mr Carr stated that the greyhound has been freshened with a long spell. 

Nunya Tron and Remote Control collided soon after the start. Go Zeppa crossed to the rail at the 250m mark and collided with Nunya Tron and Hurry Home Cain. Nunya Tron crossed to the outside at the 200m mark, checking Go Zeppa. Largo Prince and Aerial Blitz collided approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Mr M Meyer, the trainer of Miss Guyra regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Miss Guyra last raced on 4th May, 2015. Mr Meyer stated that the greyhound was purchased from NSW and he is now the new trainer. 

Mr Meyer, trainer of Miss Guyra declared a new weight of 25.9kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Miss Guyra last raced at 24.8kgs.

Jukebox Hero was slow to begin. Miss Guyra and Fang Larky collided at the 250m mark. Heleray Jarda and Big Jake collided at the 250m mark. Jukebox Hero galloped on the heels of Miss Guyra at the 250m mark, checking Miss Guyra. Heleray Jarda, Big Jake, Lil Arthur and Fang Larky collided approaching the winning post, checking Big Jake. 

Miss Guyra was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Meeting Comments:

Satisfactory Trial Results (Blinkers) - Gaelic Peter trialled over the 350m from box 3, weight 36.2kg, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of four starters. The time of the trial was 19.24, the greyhound won by a margin of 7 lengths. Gaelic Peter was cleared to race in blinkers.
